FIELD TECHNICIAN

Position Summary:
This position responds to dispatches to customer sites to perform various tasks such as install phone wiring, install customer equipment or troubleshoot customer’s phone issues.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Represent Access One at customer site and perform appointed tasks:

  • Perform site survey of customer premiseExtend circuit wiring at customer premise to designated location\
  • Install Access One provided equipment (including Hosted phones, ATA, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot customer’s phone issues
  • Test any work done at the customer site from Access One’s point of responsibilityWork with Network Services while on site to test new On Net service
  • Support Network Services, NOC and Order Management with customer trouble/install issues
  • Dispatch to the site when necessary
  • Test and Troubleshoot any voice or data trouble
  • Replace any faulty customer equipment
  • Work with Order Management and the NOC to schedule customer appointments
  • Schedule dispatches by efficiency, priority and availability
  • Trouble tickets/issues take priority
  • Maintain field technician inventory such as cable, tools, equipment
  • Maintain Access One vehicle by getting the car washed and serviced as needed

Job Requirements:
Required Education:
High School Diploma of general education degree (GED)

Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year telecommunications field services experience with demonstrated ability to perform cable and equipment installations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively manage customer expectations and respond promptly to customer needs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, use time efficiently and manage competing demands in an expeditiously, calm, organized and decisive manner
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve quickly with a limited amount of supervision
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Team oriented approach
  • Self-starter with ability to problem solve
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • After hours work (Saturday, Sunday & Holidays)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Able to climb ladder
