Under this team, Access One has grown organically and expanded its market coverage. Our executive members have a diverse background, broad range of special skills, and 150 years of combined experience.

Mark Jozwiak, President and Founder
Mark started his career in telecommunications in 1982 as an inside sales representative with TDX Systems and held several executive sales positions with GTE/Sprint, Metropolitan Fiber Systems and Bell Atlantic. In 2009, both Mark and CEO Brian Barkley were inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. Mark holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Political Science and was awarded an Honors Certificate in Defense and Strategic Studies from the University of Southern California in 1982.
Brian Barkley, Chief Executive Officer
Brian began his technology career in 1990, and worked as a sales representative for Allnet Communications and Metromedia Communications Corporation. In 2006, he joined the Board of Directors for Chicagoland and Northern Illinois Better Business Bureau. Both Brian and President Mark Jozwiak were inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 2009. Brian holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Iowa State University.
Larry Levy, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
After serving as Access One’s Vice President of Finance since 2007, Larry was appointed Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Previously CFO of Devine Sports, Chief Operating Officer and Controller of Marathon Media and serving in positions with Berryman Communications, HispaniMedia and Chase Broadcasting, he has over 20 years of financial management and operations experience. Larry holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the Pace University Lubin Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vassar College.
Jeff Hartzell, Vice President of Customer Operations
Jeff has over 20 years of management experience in operations, marketing and product management within telecommunication companies such as MCI, Ameritech, Focal Communications and Neutral Tandem. As Vice President of Customer Operations, Jeff is responsible for the company’s service delivery, customer care, and billing functions. Jeff has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. from The Ohio State University.
Cindy Kujawa, Vice President of Human Resources
Cindy Kujawa brings more than 20 years of wide-ranging experience and expertise in her role as Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to joining Access One, she served as Vice President, Human Resources for Solucient and Focal Communications. Cindy holds a Masters in Business Administration from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois.
Dan Montgomery, Vice President of Engineering
Dan Montgomery brings more than 25 years of experience to his role as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to Access One, he served as Vice President of Engineering and Network Operations at Globalcom, Sr. Vice President of Engineering at Focal Communications and Director of Client Network Engineering at MFS Telecom. Dan holds a Masters in Computer Science from DePaul University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois – Chicago.
Tom Turner, Vice President of Sales
Tom serves as Vice President of Sales, bringing over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining Access One, he was VP of the Agent Channel at Globalcom, where he launched the agent program and built one of the most successful channel programs in the Chicagoland area. Tom received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from San Diego State University.
John Hoehne, Vice President of Finance
After serving two years in Access One's finance department, John Hoehne was named Director of Finance in 2011 and promoted to Vice President of Finance in 2012. He has ten years of experience in telecommunications, including previous positions at Allegiance Telecom, Teoco Corporation, and Deloitte Consulting. John holds a B.S. in Finance from DePaul University and an MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.
Joel Miller, Senior General Counsel
Joel has served as Access One’s corporate counsel since the company’s inception. He has over 25 years of wide-ranging experience in corporate, business and commercial matters. An adjunct professor at Carthage College since 1995, Joel’s courses include Business Law, Labor Law and Constitutional Law. Joel received his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School, and he graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
